All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:

A valid, full driving licence relevant to the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or at our Penistone office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required upon vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where appropriate. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or missed appointments may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Rental
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are prohibited, as well as the transport of hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating the vehicle outside agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent are strictly forbidden.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Penistone will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
